Portfolio

This page links to all my articles from 2019 to the present that are not posted on this site. My work ranges from cultural topics, such as music, to hard news topics, such as health, business, and politics.

Musings on Many Things (2025)

I have a lot on my mind when I notice trends, cultural moments, politics, etc. This publication is a space where I write — maybe ramble — about many things.

Billy Penn/WHYY (2024-2025)

I started working at WHYY during election season in 2024 and highlighted the intersection between art and politics. I also covered events commemorating cultural holidays, new businesses and small business owners, food and lifestyle, and community improvement.

The Conversation U.S. (2022)

I edited stories by academic scholars and wrote essential reads, which are round-up stories of previous articles, in response to current events. I also created Flipboard posts about trends in the Supreme Court.

I reported on people from Mattapan, Roxbury, and Dorchester to get their opinions on the mayoral election, outdoor yoga courses, and the Boston School Committee.

06

Music Venue Substack (2020)

My beat for the Boston area in fall of 2020 was music venues during COVID-19. I created a newsletter with nationwide coverage of music venues. To fill coverage gaps, I wrote about the effects of potential closures, new ways to host performances, and other changes to generate income.

07

Boston Common News (2019)

I reported on events in the Greater Boston area and Governor Baker's vape ban for Foundations of Journalism, an introductory course at Emerson.

WERS (2019-2021)

For a year and a half, I worked as a staff writer for WERS, a radio station at Emerson College. My articles on the website include playlists, deep dives, artist profiles, and concert reviews. I often wrote about lesser-known independent musicians or artists of diverse backgrounds.
